Saskatchewan has held a latest PNP draw on December 17, as a result of this draw, the province has invited immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination.
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has invited immigrants from the International Skilled Worker category, and through the following subcategories:
-
Express Entry
-
Occupations In-Demand
A total of 576 invitations were sent to those applicants who possessed valid work experience in the selected occupations. A total of 190 candidates were invited from the Express Entry sub-category, and 386 invitations were sent to the candidates from the Occupations In-Demand category.
To receive an invitation for this draw, the candidates from both of the sub-streams were required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile along with the SINP. Irrespective of the categories, the invited applicants needed a minimum 71 EOI score. This score is the provincial score; it is not the CRS threshold.
The province invited those applicants who had previous work experience in the 89 designated occupations on the list. The SINP utilizes the EOI system, in order to shortlist the candidates, who have the potential to apt in the local labour sector. The candidates must provide a firm demonstration of their intention to live in the province, they can do this by providing work experience, language ability, age, and connections in the province.
Saskatchewan ranks the candidates out of the 100 scores, this ranking is done according to the International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. The candidates who get the highest scores are invited to apply for provincial nominations.
Express Entry sub-category
In this invitation phase, Saskatchewan has issued 190 invitations to the candidates, who possessed their profiles in the federal Express Entry pool.
Saskatchewan’s Express Entry is linked with the federal Express Entry portal. This federal Express Entry system manages the three main immigration categories. Those categories are:
-
Federal Skilled Worker Class
-
Federal Skilled Trades Class
-
Canadian Experience Class
The Express Entry candidates who file for the provincial nomination, and if they receive a provincial nomination they are awarded additional 600 points in their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. If they get this, they are guaranteed to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence. There is a probability of an invitation if the candidates had a profile in the Express Entry, and they had filed out an EOI with a 71 grid score.
Occupations In-Demand sub-category
The Occupations In-Demand category is for those immigration applicants who do not have their profiles in the federal Express Entry system. This program is designed to fill the labour shortages in the province, as the invited candidates are accommodated in the designated occupations.
A total of 386 Occupations In-Demand candidates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination. The minimum provincial score of 71 was required for selection.
