Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) has issued around 211 invitations to the immigration candidates. In these invitations, the major portion went out to the 174 Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates. Whereas, 27 invitations were issued to the candidates in Business Impact candidates. The minimum points for these candidates were 97. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNPs) allows the immigration candidates to immigrate to the various provinces and territories of Canada. This program is also to fill the labour shortages in the provinces of Canada. Whereas, some of these provincial programs are aligned with the federal Express Entry system.

PEI Express:

The Express Entry of the Prince Edward Island is aligned with the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry system is an application system that is responsible for managing the applications for the three main economic immigration streams of Canada. The streams under the Express Entry System are:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class

The qualified candidates are provided with a score in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The assessment factors for the score are age, education, skilled work experience, and language proficiency in English or French. The candidates with the highest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score are issued invitations. Moreover, those Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination from any of the provinces in Canada, they are provided with an additional 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. These additional points ensure an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for these candidates. To apply in the PEI’s Express Entry, the candidates are required to create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile along with Prince Edward Island’s PNP. These EOI profiles are based on the unique point grid of the province.

Labour Impact:

The category of the Labour Impact is for the foreign nationals who possess a valid job offer from an employer in Prince Edward Island, and they must be supported by the employer. The applicants in this category are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile for the consideration of the provincial nomination. This category is subdivided into three streams that are:

  • Skilled Worker
  • Critical Worker
  • International Graduate

Business Impact on PEI PNP:

The minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score required for the candidates in the Business Impact category was 184. The invitations issued to these candidates were given under the Work Permit Stream. The Work Permit stream is for those foreign entrepreneurs who want to operate a new business in Prince Edward Island.
