P.E.I issues a large number of invitations in a recent draw

Over the previous year, Prince Edward Island has issued about 1,583 invitations to the candidates under the Express Entry and Labour Impact categories. Prince Edward Island has also invited 345 immigration candidates. These candidates are invited to apply for the provincial nomination in a draw that was held on September 17.

These invitations by Prince Edward Island were counted as the largest invitations issued by this province. On August 20th Prince Edward Island issued these invitations to the candidates under the Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates. On September 17, The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) also distributed 345 invitations to the candidates under all streams. Totally, 313 candidates in the province’s Express Entry and Labour Impact categories got invitations in this draw. Whereas, the Prince Edward Island PNP did not disclose the tally of these invited Express Entry candidates. Moreover, the 32 entrepreneur candidates were also called through Prince Edward Island’s Business Impact stream.

Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program:

The PEI PNP allows the participating immigrants to nominate themselves for economic immigration streams, and to apply for Canadian permanent residence. The PEI PNP has also an Express Entry pool that is connected with the federal Express Entry system. The federal Express Entry system is responsible for managing the applications for the main economic immigration streams of Canada. The streams under the federal Express Entry system are:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC)
  • Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

PEI Express Entry

The Province Edward Island Express Entry is also merged with the Express Entry system. The eligible candidates are provided with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. The CRS scores are given on the basis of the candidate’s age, language proficiency in English or French, work experience, and education. The Express Entry candidates who get a provincial nomination are given 600 additional points. Those candidates are also ensured an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the permanent residence.

In order to get selected for a provincial nomination, the Express Entry candidates are required to create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile along with the Prince Edward Island’s PNP. The EOI profiles are allotted points relating to the point grid of the respective province. The candidates with the highest scores are invited to apply for the monthly draws.

PEI: Labour Impact Category

The immigration candidates having a valid job offer from an employer in PEI and having support from their employer fall under the Labour Impact category. This category is further divided into three streams:

  • Skilled Worker
  • Critical Worker
  • International Graduate

The candidates in this category are also required to submit an EOI profile.

PEI: Business Impact Category

The EOI score required for the candidates under the Business Impact Category was 32. The invitations for the Business Impact category were issued under the Work Permit Stream. This stream is specifically for those foreign entrepreneurs who wish to operate a new business in Prince Edward Island.
