New Invitations in Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program has invited 213 new immigration candidates. After this draw, the new invitations in this year have been reached to 3,299. In the new draw held, 213 candidates were invited to apply for provincial nomination.

 

  1. Manitoba immigration programs:

To fill the labour shortages in the province, the Skilled Workers Overseas Category and Skilled Workers in Manitoba streams have been set up. Thorough these streams the province can nominate the skilled workers to support the labour shortage in the province.

The candidates also need to prove their relations or family ties in the province. The candidates are not required to be physically present in the province as they apply. Successful applicants are required to have a valid job offer from an employer in Manitoba. Whereas, the international students who have been graduated from the institutions in Manitoba may receive a LAA under the international student stream, followed by the high skilled demand.

  1. Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has invited the skilled workers and international graduates through the following immigration streams:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba
  • Skilled Workers Overseas
  • International Education Streams

Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs): These invitations are also called as the Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs). These LAAs were distributed among the candidates with the Expression of Interest (EOI) score, and the requirements were:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba:171 LAAs with a minimum score of at least 475
  • Skilled Workers Overseas:8 LAAs with a minimum score of at least 824
  • International Education Stream: 34 LAAs, with no Expression of Interest (EOI) score requirement

In 2020, a total of 3,299 Letters of Advice to Apply have been issued till yet, and this was 97th draw since 2014.

 

  1. Express Entry

In these Letters of Advice, 23 letters were issued to the candidates who had a profile in the federal Express Entry System. The Federal Express Entry System manages the three main economic immigration streams of Canada that are:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class

The Express Entry candidates who apply for provincial nomination also receive additional 600 points in their Comprehensive Ranking System score. The CRS scores are managed on the human capital factors such as age, work experience, qualification, education, and language proficiency in English or French. This additional score ensures and guarantees that the candidates will receive an ITA for permanent residence. The Express Entry Candidates with a valid provincial nomination from Manitoba had to declare their legitimate Express Entry id, along with a job seeker code.

 

  1. Manitoba’s EOI system

The interested candidates for the Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program are required to register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with MPNP, in order to receive an LAA through the immigration streams of Manitoba that include the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas streams. The candidates are ranked out of 1,000 points. The assessments are done on the base of characteristics such as work experience, education, age, language proficiency, connections in Manitoba, and other evaluation factors.
