The Manitoba province of Canada has held its 100th immigration draw, as a result of this draw 191 immigration candidates have been invited to the province. In this year, this province has issued 3,862 invitations to the provincial nominee candidates. In this latest draw, the province issued 191 invitations to the immigration candidates. Those candidates are invited to apply for the provincial nomination for permanent residence in Canada.
- Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has invited the international graduates and the skilled workers from the following immigration streams:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba
- International Education Stream
- Skilled Workers Overseas
This draw of Manitoba was counted as the 100th draw of the province, and after this draw, the total number of Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) went up to 3,671.
The invitations were issued to the candidates in the above categories. These invitations are also known as the Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs). These LAAs were distributed to the candidates along with their Expression of Interest(EOI) scores, the scores in the categories were as follows:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 152 LAAs and a minimum score of at least 528
- Skilled Workers Overseas: 14 LAAs and a minimum score of at least 611
- International Education Stream: 25 LAAs with no EOI score requirement
Manitoba’s immigration streams:
The two important categories of Skilled Worker Overseas, and the Skilled Workers in Manitoba, these both streams allow the province to nominate the skilled foreign workers in the province. The workers are nominated to support the labour shortage in the province, and also to fill the requested jobs.
The overseas applicants are required to have an established connection in Manitoba. The relationship in the province can be demonstrated through close family ties or friends in the province. The relation can also be presented by an invitation under the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The candidates are not required to be physically present in the province. The selected candidates in the Skilled Workers in the Manitoba category are required to meet the minimum criteria. The minimum criteria include a full-time job offer from a valid employer in Manitoba. The international students who have been graduates from an institution of Manitoba, they might receive a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) under the International Education Stream.
Express Entry Manitoba
The Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) that were issued to the immigration candidates, 20 of these LAAs were issued to those candidates who had their profiles in the federal Express Entry System. Those candidates who are found eligible for the Express Entry system, are ranked based on human capital characteristics. The evaluation factors are age, work experience, language proficiency in English or French, and skilled work experience. The scores are also known as the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores. The candidates who get the highest scores, they are invited to apply for the Canadian permanent residence. Moreover, those candidates who receive a provincial nomination, they receive an additional 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, these points ensure an ITA for Canadian permanent residence.
Manitoba’s EOI system
The aspiring candidates who want their immigration process through the Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program, they are required to go through the registration of an Expression of Interest with the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program to get a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) through the following streams:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba
- Skilled Workers Overseas
In this provincial system, the candidates are given rankings out of 1,000 points. These points are based on the human capital characteristics such as their age, education, skilled work experience, and the candidate’s connections in Manitoba.
