Manitoba has held its largest draw of the year. As a result of this draw, new 253 candidates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination that was held on August 13.
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has invited the international student’s graduates and skilled workers through the following immigration streams:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba
- Skilled Workers Overseas
- International Education Streams
These invitations are also referred to as the Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs). The distribution of these letters was as follow:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 72
- Skilled Workers Overseas: 15
- International Education Stream: 12
Manitoba province has issued LAAs to 3,086 immigration categories in 2020. This program began in April 2014, and this draw was 96th in the row.
Manitoba’s EOI system
Expression of Interest (EOI) is mandatory to register for those candidates who want to immigrate through the Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program. The candidates must register an EOI with the Manitoba’s provincial Nominee Program to get Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) through the following streams:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba
- Skilled Workers Overseas
In Manitoba’s system, the candidates are given points of 1,000 for the basic factors of their language skills, education, work experience, and the other assessment factors.
The EOI score cutoffs for the August 13 draw:
- Skilled workers in Manitoba: 475
- Skilled Workers Overseas: 764
Manitoba immigration streams
The Skilled Workers and the Skilled Workers Overseas categories allow the province to nominate the skilled workers to support the local labour market needs of Manitoba.
Overseas people must have an established connection in Manitoba. The close connection can be demonstrated by the close families or friends who are living in Manitoba, experience in the province or an invitation under one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.
To be eligible for application, the candidates must not be physically in the Province.
The successful candidates in the skilled worker’s category of Manitoba must have a full-time permanent job offer from an employer in Manitoba.
Express Entry
Nine LAAs were issued to those candidates who had a valid profile in the federal Express Entry System.
The Express Entry candidates who apply for permanent residence under the provincial nomination, they receive additional 600 points in their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. The Express Entry candidates who received Manitoba’s provincial nomination, they declared a valid Express Entry ID and they also provided a job seeking validation code
