Manitoba’s immigration streams
To facilitate the employers in Manitoba, the Skilled Worker Overseas and Skilled Worker streams allow the province to nominate the skilled workers, so they can support and fill the labour shortages in Manitoba.
The overseas applicants are required to establish a connection in the province. The close connections can be demonstrated through the family ties, friends, prior work in the province, or by an invitation from MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives. In order to be eligible, the candidates are not required to be physically present in the province. The successful candidates in the Skilled Workers category are required to have a full-time permanent job offer from an employer in Manitoba. Whereas, the International students that have been graduated from an educational institute in Manitoba, might get a Letter of Advice to Apply under the International Education Stream.
Express Entry
The LAA’s issued in this draw of September10th, the 22 LAA’s belonged to those candidates who had valid profiles in the Federal Express Entry System. The Express Entry System is responsible for the management of the three main economic immigration streams of Canada. These streams are:
- Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWP)
- Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTP)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Moreover, other provincial immigration programs are attached to the Express Entry System. The eligible candidates for the immigration programs are issued scores under the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System. The points are awarded on basic human capital factors such as age, language, work experience and language proficiency. The candidate’s CRC score is one of the major selection factors for the application of Permanent Residence. The candidates who have the highest CRS points are issued invited to apply for permanent residence. Those Express Entry candidates who received a provincial nomination from Manitoba had to declare a valid job seeker validation code and a valid Express Entry ID.
Manitoba’s EOI system

In Manitoba’s system, the candidates are ranked out of 1,000 points. These points are given on the human capital characteristics such as language proficiency in English or French, work experience, education, connections in Manitoba and other relevant factors.
