160th Express Entry draw was held in Canada, and as a result of it, new immigration candidates were invited to apply for permanent residence.
This latest Express Entry round has issued 600 new invitations to the candidates having at least 771 scores in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The invited candidate required a provincial nomination from a Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) to get selected. When they enroll in PNP, they are awarded an additional 600 CRS points.
In the previous round, 250 ITA’s were issued to Express Entry candidates through the FSTP. The minimum score for that draw was 415.
Likewise, the flow of these draws, there is also an expectation that tomorrow there will be a draw for Canadian Experience Class.
The Express Entry System is responsible for the management of the three main economic immigration streams of Canada. These streams are:
- Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWP)
- Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTP)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
The Canadian government is trying to achieve its immigration targets for 2020. Despite the Covid-19 situation, Canada has held 27th draw of 2020, and as a result of 62,450 ITA’s have been issued to this date. In today’s draw, 771 was the highest CRC score cutoff for this year. The tie-break rule has been applied while calling for these invitations, the candidates having the score above 771 or 771, they have been issued ITA’s. The eligible candidates for the immigration programs are issued scores under the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System. The points are awarded on basic human capital factors such as age, language, work experience and language proficiency. The candidate’s CRC score is one of the major selection factors for the application of Permanent Residence.
The highest-scoring candidates are invited to apply (ITA) for Canadian Permanent Residence. These ITA’s are provided through the regular draws. These draws are held every two weeks. The processing duration for the applications filed through the Express Entry System is around 6 months
