On November 18th, 2020, Canada held the Express Entry draw, and after this draw, it was concluded that this round was among the biggest Express Entry draws. After this draw, Canada has issued around 92,350 ITAs this year.
A total of 5,000 invitations were distributed among the applicants.
To receive an invitation, the applicants required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 472.
- Express Entry:
The Express Entry System is responsible for the management of the three main economic immigration streams of Canada. These streams are:
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Moreover, other provincial immigration programs are attached to the Express Entry System. The eligible candidates for the immigration programs are issued scores under the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System. The points are awarded on basic human capital factors such as age, language, work experience, and language proficiency. The candidate’s CRC score is one of the major selection factors for the application for Permanent Residence. The candidates who get the highest scores, receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.
- Tie-Break Rule:
When there exists a tie between the scores of the candidates, then the IRCC applies the tie-breaking rule.
In the case of this draw, the applicants who had a CRS score of 472 or above, were required to submit their Express Entry profiles before October 27 at 06:18:11 UTC to receive an invitation.
In the following year, the CRS requirements have been flown above the 470 scores for almost all the programs. The only draw for the Federal Skilled Trades program invited the applicants with a CRS of 415, and on the other hand, the Canadian experience class draws score was around 440s. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws have quite higher score requirements, this is due to the reward of 600 additional points by a provincial nomination. The PNP’s provides various pathways for the Canadian permanent residence for those Express Entry candidates who have a lower CRS score.
- ITA in 2020:
After this draw, the total number of ITA’s that have been issued this year has now reached 92,350. As these invitations are creating a record for the number of ITAs. Canada has planned to invite 400,000 immigrants to Canada in the coming year. So, it can be inferred that these increasing numbers of ITA’s are an indication to achieve the immigration level plans.
- Invited Immigrants:
This expected projection can be considered for the invited person. The person might have the following human capital characteristics.
