Canada exceeds 100,000 ITAs issued in 2020, a record number of latest invitations. On December 9, in a new Express Entry draw, Canada has invited 5,000 immigration candidates to apply for permanent residence. Invited candidates needed a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of a minimum of 469 to get invited.
This draw has brought up the number of Invitations to use (ITAs) issued this year to 102,350. It is a record-high number of invitations.
The federal Express Entry system is main immigration system of Canada that is responsible for 3 federal economic-class programs:

Federal Skilled Worker Program

Federal Skilled Trades Program

Canadian Experience Class
The candidates in these programs, some Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), are given a score supported by the CRS. The points are awarded counting on a candidates’ human capital factors like age, education, work experience, and language ability in English or French.
The highest-scoring candidates receive an ITA, which they will then use for Canadian permanent residence.
The number of ITAs issued till now, have been so far the highest ever. Canada exceeded its ITA aim on November 18, when a 5,000 ITAs were issued. There has also never been one year where the amount of ITAs issued surpassed 100,000.
A great number of ITAs are the target of Canada’s commitment to welcome over 400,000 new immigrants in 2021, whereas, most of the immigrants will be coming through the Express Entry system.
When there is a tie between candidates, IRCC applies the tie-breaking rule. So, for this draw, candidates who had a CRS score of 469 or more, needed to possess submitted their Express Entry profile before June 4, 2020, at 22:26:05 UTC to receive a call for participation.
