Economic recovery in Canada after Covid-19

After Covid-19, Canada’s economy seems to be on the right track. In Covid-19, Canada had lost many jobs since this pandemic. But now, the economy of Canada is recovering after the Covid-19 break. This August, Canada added 246,000 jobs in the country.

The Canadian people are going back to their working routines. The recovery of Canada’s economy is continuing; this is a piece of good news for the citizens as well for the coming immigrants.

Lost Jobs:

Due to Covid-19, unemployment was observed in the country. About 3 million people got unemployed since the start of lockdown. Now, the situation is under control, and paper is getting jobs in the country.

Labour Force Survey:

The results from the August Labour Force Survey suggests that due to the ease in the restrictions have resulted in more jobs and employment opportunities for the Canadian people, and the immigrants in the country.

In August, the employment rate went up to 1.4% in the country, rising to 5.7% of pre-COVID levels. The employment rate for the landed immigrants rose to 1.6%. The employment rate for the new immigrants increased up t0 2.2%.

In this risen employment rate, most of the people were given full-time positions. The services sector had more employment growth. The services sector growth was focused on educational services, accommodation services, food services, and beauty salons etc. The increase in the employment rate is good news for all Canadians.

Unemployment Rate:

The unemployment rates are higher for visible minorities in comparison to the people who are not members of those groups. The national unemployment rate is 11.1%, for Arabs 17.9%, for Black 17.6%, and South Asian people is 16.6%. The workers with low wages and the youth have employment levels of 86% of February, whereas the other employees are returning to the previous rates. Canada still needs to recover almost 1.1 million jobs. These jobs have been lost since the emergence of this virus. The new report suggests that Canada’s economy is on the right track, and it will be recovered soon. In recent months, almost 1.9 million jobs have been recuperated. Moreover, 246,000 jobs were created in August, 419,000 jobs in July and 1.2 million jobs in May and June.
