What is RNIP:
The federal government of Canada has set up the immigration pathways to attract foreign workers to the remote communities and small towns in Canada. Vernon-North Okanagan, British Columbia, comes up in the 11 communities that are currently participating in the RNIP.
There are certain requirements for the RNIP, the candidates must have to meet the requirements to get invited. The requirements include work experience, education, language proficiency, and proof of sufficient funds.
The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot for Vernon-North Okanagan has decided to make the easier requirements for the hiring of the employees. The RNIP was introduced at the start of February, and till now 19 out of 21 applications have been accepted.
Changes in the RNIP:
The commendable change which will help employers to hire more employees, it is that the decrease of the wage permitted to $23 from $25 per hour. Besides, those that are working, studying or living within the community for a minimum of six months are exempt from this criterion as long as their current wage is between 18 and 22.99 dollars per hour.
Those with a minimum of six months of labour experience within the community will now receive 15 points, up from 10. those that have studied within the community for a minimum of two years within the last five years will receive 10 points, up from six.
Points were also increased for candidates with immediate family within the community. Candidates will receive three points, up from two, for every adult immediate loved one who lives within the community for a minimum of six months. the amount of points that a candidate can get from having immediate relations is now capped at nine, up from eight.
There have also been point reductions within the community’s criteria. The applicants will now get up to 10 points for work experience from outside the community. There have been also changing to points given for a candidate’s age. Only those under 25 will enjoy this alteration, as they’re going to receive three points rather than two.
