To apply for the Express Entry BC, and Skills Immigration, the candidates are required to create a profile in British Columbia’s PNP online portal. In that portal, they have to register under the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). The candidates are evaluated on the human capital characteristics. The assessment factors include language proficiency, education, work experience, and employment location. After the approval of the applicant, they can utilize their provincial nomination to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
The Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination, are awarded 600 additional points towards their CRS score.
Every week, B.C. issues invitations under its Tech Pilot. The BC PNP Tech Pilot is an immigration program for IT workers and international students, who have their occupations in demand. It operates through B.C.’s existing provincial immigration streams. To be considered for the Tech Pilot, the candidates must a valid job offer from the designated occupations. The eligible occupations include computer managers, information systems managers, civil engineers, web designers and developers, translators, video recording technicians, and others. The other immigration streams of British Columbia need a full-time permanent job offer requirement, whereas the Tech Pilot job offers can have a minimum duration of one year. Those candidates who are invited to apply for a provincial nomination can submit their application within 30 days.
