British Columbia is now close in inviting around 6,000 immigration candidates for provincial nomination this year. In a new draw held on August 18th for Canadian Permanent Residence, British Columbia has invited 302 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination.

The invitations were sent to the candidates registered in the categories of Skilled Workers and International Graduates. The programs under them are:

  • Skills Immigration
  • Express Entry (British Columbia)
  • Skills Immigration: Entry Level

The candidates under these categories were invited under this draw. The federal system is responsible for the management of the three main economic immigration streams of Canada. These streams are:

The Skills Immigration category is for the high occupation demand for skilled and semi-skilled workers. These workers are called based on the in-demand occupations in the B.C province.

The minimum score range in this draw varied between 76 and 98, for the categories involved.

The score distribution of this draw is:

The candidates having a profile in provincial nomination receive an additional 600 scores in their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

British Columbia has held three draws in August 2020, so far. The tech pilot draws are also being held, and Similarly, the candidates are being awarded scores on various selection factors.

The tech pilot was created in 2017. The purpose of this pilot was to fulfil the labour shortage and labour demand in British Columbia’s tech sector. The eventual purpose of this pilot also includes growing the technology sector of British Columbia. The Tech Pilot candidates do not need a permanent or full-time job offers from the province. However, the candidates under this pilot must have proof of a 1-year job. This Tech Pilot will be extended until June 2021.
