British Columbia has issued around 6,000 invitations to the immigration candidates this year. These invitations have been issued to apply for provincial nomination. In a recent draw held on September 15, British Columbia has invited 407 immigration candidates through a provincial nomination.
These recent invitations were issued to the candidates under the following categories:
- Skills Immigration (SI)
- Express Entry BC (EEBC)
- Skilled Worker
- International Graduate
- Entry-level
- Semi-Skilled
The minimum score required to get a nomination ranged from 75 points to 95 points.
- Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC)
The Express Entry British Columbia is for those candidates who have a valid profile in the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry system is responsible for managing the applications for the three main immigration streams of Canada. These three immigration streams are also termed as the main economic immigration streams of Canada. Those streams are:
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
The candidates with the highest ranking points in the Express Entry Pool are issued ITA’s for Canadian permanent residence. The invitation round usually takes place every two weeks. Most of the immigrants are from the three main economic classes of immigration.
- Skills Immigration
The Skills Immigration program is categorized for skilled and semi-skilled workers. The skilled and semi-skilled workers whose occupations are in demand in the British Columbia province are managed under the British Columbia’s Registration System. The immigrants who have occupations in demand are also issued invitations under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). To apply through the SIRS, the qualified candidates are required to register an account. After that registration, the candidates are given points on various actors such as their age, education, work experience and language proficiency. The candidates who possess the highest scores are invited to apply for provincial nomination. The candidates who apply SIRS categories are also required to have a valid job offer from an employer in British Columbia.
- Express Entry Draws:
The Express Entry draws are occurred after every two weeks. In the previous Express Entry draws, 4200 invitations were issued for permanent residents. In this year, IRCC has issued 74,150 Invitations to Apply (ITA’s). Canada has also ensured to welcome more immigrants every year.
British Columbia holds draws every week. The previous draw was held on September 8. This year, British Columbia has invited 6,000 candidates to apply for provincial nomination under the PNP and Tech pilot programs. The Tech Pilot candidates are not required to have a permanent and full-time job offer. The Tech pilot candidates are required to demonstrate a job offer that is at least 1 year in duration and it must have at least 120 calendar days remaining.
