British Columbia has held the latest draw on October 14th, 2020, and consequently, 417 candidates have been invited to apply for the provincial nomination under the British Columbia. The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program has invited the candidates from the five sub-categories of immigration. The candidates were invited to apply for the provincial nomination for the permanent residence on this draw.
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has issued around 417 invitations to the candidates under the Express Entry (EE British Columbia) and Skills Immigration streams. The applicants were invited under the subcategories of Skilled Worker and International Graduate. Moreover, the candidates from the Skills Immigration streams were also invited.
The minimum score required for the successful applications varied from 75 to 94 points in all the categories. British Columbia holds the draws for the various Provincial Nominee Program weekly. The Tech Pilot draws are held weekly, in those draws the candidates with job offers in the specified 29 eligible occupations are invited to apply for provincial nomination. The Tech Pilot was launched in 2017 to help British Columbia’s technology sector to hire the IT workers to fill the labour shortages and technical demands. To be considered for the Tech Pilot, the candidates are required to be registered in the British Columbia’s existing provincial immigration streams. The candidates are also required to have a valid job offer in British Columbia’s specified occupations list.
The applicants are required to create a profile in the British Columbia’s online portal, they have to register its Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). Afterwards, they can apply for the Skills Immigration or British Columbia Express Entry. The applicants are assessed on the human capital factors such as their age, education, skilled work experience, and proficiency in English. After the approval of the application, the applicants can use this provincial nomination to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination from the province will be given additional 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. These scores ensure an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the future draws. Canada has held the biggest Express Entry draw, and it has invited around 4,500 candidates to apply for the permanent residence.
The candidates can apply for the various British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Programs (BC PNP), they need to create profiles in the federal Express Entry System, and they can apply for the other programs in BC PNP.
